I’m on my second attempt at growing vegetable plants from seeds this year. My first attempt was too late in the spring and only yielded some small peas.
The seeds are started in mini greenhouses in my kitchen, next to a glass door. I figured they’d get plenty of light there. They do, but they need more. They needed light overhead and at my first round of planting stretched and didn’t come in healthy. Hence the lack of veggies.
This round of seeds are in there little greenhouse homes with the addition of some plant lights above. In just a few days they’ve begun to sprout and they look pretty healthy compared to my first attempt.
In working with seeds and types of plants I’ve never cared for, I’m learning about lighting and soil and so much more. Trial and error, reading, and watching. Gardening is a life lesson. It correlates to relationships, to work, to personal growth. The care we put into our lives helps determine everything. I could expand on this, there are a ton of thoughts in my head. I won’t now though. Better to let those seeds of thought take root and grow strong first.
