Sketching is my reminder that it’s okay to not be perfect and that most of life is a work in progress. I always wanted my sketches to be 100% perfect and often stopped sketching for months on end when the first attempt wasn’t as good as I wanted.
Now I’m sketching more, but approaching with the mindset that mistakes will happen and that nature isn’t always symmetrical and there are “flaws” all throughout the incredibly beautiful universe. So, my art doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to be part of me that is pouring out into paper or canvas.
If I wait until I get it perfect, it won’t happen and it definitely won’t come close without some practice.
Here’s to life… a long journey of practice.
