In the past few weeks I’ve picked up my sketchbook again. It’s been months since I’ve put much effort into creating. These little bursts of creative energy happen and all too often I’ve pushed them back “until I have more time or energy.”
I believe we have to create time. Waiting until we have it doesn’t ever seem to work. We never have it, even when we do. Maybe we don’t have the span of time we want, but we have time. We just use the time for other things.
In a world that increasingly pushes us to screen time, there’s something refreshing about putting it down and picking up paper. A sketchbook, a journal, or a work of fiction that encourages our imagination.
Create the time to create… create the hobbies and attributes that bring your soul to life.
