The Beauty of a Foggy Morning

This morning we started on our walk a bit later than normal, it was chilly and I was enjoying the warmth of my home. When we ventured out I found that there was a lovely blanket of fog near the park we were going to. While driving in heavy fog isn’t something I enjoy, walking in fog is. Especially when the fog is hanging heaviest over the water and I’m fortunate enough to be near the water.

There’s a mystical feel to the fog, it feels like being in a different world. Magic is in the air, fairy tales are real and just barely out of reach. You can catch glimpses of them through the mist, but you can’t quite enter the realm.

Mornings like this are necessary to reawaken the magic inside, at least for me. I believe most kids have magic inside and the world slowly pushes it down until we have a hard time finding it. However, the spark remains, waiting to be rekindled into a flame. Much like a campfire that is dwindling into embers, our magic may take a little work to come back into colorful life.

For me, the magic is necessary for balance. I feel when it is just embers and I know my life is best when the embers flare up into flames.

The photos from this foggy morning serve to remind me of the need for magic in my life. Images remind me that magic is everywhere, I just need to look for it.

May you find your way back to the magic that exists inside you.
