Slowing the Pace

The urge to slow down and appreciate life more is growing stronger for me each day. I wish I could stay in the sunrise until the sun has fully risen, but life doesn’t allow for that. There is a whisper in my soul that keeps pushing me towards a life that does allow for more time spent in sunrise and sunset bliss, for more hours spent working with plants. More time with hands in the soil and feet on the earth.

As we make way from winter to spring, the seasons are reawakening a need to evaluate life and start planning how to make the things that truly matter happen more. Planning our life is much like planning a garden, thinking ahead to what needs to be done in the next season so that the garden thrives.

Such is life, plotting and planning the landscape of our metaphorical garden so that we thrive. Just as plants need sun, water, and care… so do we. Sometimes the care we need is simply to place a priority on the life we want so that we can move on from the life we’re in. While being content is important, content doesn’t mean to quit growing and becoming who we want to be.

As I take care of my plants, I take care of myself. Cultivating a colorful dream all the while.

One day that life that allows for many minutes spent admiring the sunrise and sunset will be my life.

Keep dreaming friends!
