Gifts of the Soul

Gifts of the soul. These wonderful gifts we often overlook. I have been blessed in my life to receive some of the most precious soul gifts from people. Sometimes they come from people who we are close to, sometimes they are nothing other than a passing conversation with a stranger right as we needed it most.

Soul gifts come in a variety of packaging, shapes, and sizes. Some soul gifts are given as a compliment, some as a hug, some as a reminder of our worth when we are at our lowest point. Some are time spent with another person who values our presence in their life. Soul gifts can be a phone call just to say “thank you” or “I love you”. They can be a meal shared or an adventure together. They can be the honest words from a friend when we are lost in the maze of our brain.

These gifts are more valuable than money. They are what we carry deep inside and treat as the most precious of our possessions. Gifts of the soul light up our lives and carry us through our days. They are a symbol of our connection to each other.

At this time of year where the focus is on gifts we can lose sight of what matters most. The people we love who truly love us don’t care about the actual things that we give. They care about us, about our relationship with them. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t give physical gifts (goodness knows I love to get little gifts for those I love). What it does mean is that we should put our focus not on the physical gifts, but rather on sharing from our soul, from our heart. On giving love and compassion. On nurturing and caring for those who matter most to us in a way that will speak to their soul and fill them up with light and love.

Happy Christmas Season my friends. May your season be filled with love, with light, and with the most important things of all.

Much Love.
