Magical Moments

The most magical moments are usually not anticipated. There is no real way to script them, to create them… they have to happen. Spontaneous.

A brief and beautiful blip in time when Mellie (my dog) and I are walking in the crisp and cool morning as a spectacular sunrise begins to unfurl in front of us. Sunlight painting the sky as clouds slowly move across the sky. Ever changing light creating new patterns.

Evenings as the sun descends to allow the moon to come share its ethereal glow. It is as if a magician begins to paint with vibrant colors. The darkening sky briefly brightened by streaks of red, orange, and purple. Blue turning from light to dark. Stars begin to appear, shining and twinkling.

The simple times when I feel arms wrap around me as I lean against the railing of a ferry-boat under a night sky. Exhausted from crowd overload, but safe and warm in the embrace of the man who I most love being with. Lights dancing on top of the water. Breeze around us.

The energy of the world can get to me. It isn’t always good energy in this crazy era we live in. However, these magical moments come along to remind me that there is still much to be excited about, giddy over, and amazed by. In the midst of the negativity of the world there is still an oasis to be found. Hours spent in a good book or movie. Mind wanderings out into the universe. Laughter brought on by JRE and Joey Diaz (I cannot stop laughing with these two). Looking at the one person who can bring the biggest smile to my face and getting lost in the galaxy of his eyes. The giant and ridiculous grin of Mellie as she frolics into the woods. Purring cats. Hot coffee on a cool morning. Buttery popcorn. A delicious margarita. Cozy blankets and a game controller. Dreams of falling leaves and mountain trails, of train rides, of a mountain in France. Wading into a stream. The crash of waves on the beach. Screaming and laughing on rides that I never thought I would go on. The list goes on and on. I just have to remember to go there when the list of negatives in the world tries to take over.

Turn on the magic in the world. Get lost in it.

Much love!

Not a fan of shoes. Love trails, painting, the sky, Dr. Who, Sherlock, and my little spotted dog. Founding member of Team FlashFoot. Obsessed with taking photos of the sky and flowers. Would rather be working in the yard than in a group of people. Sundays are made for margaritas.
