Walking with the Rising Sun

Recent times have been full of moments of personal growth and reflection. These moments are necessary and I appreciate them even when they suck. However these life lessons can be intense emotionally. After all, dealing with our inner demons is usually exhilarating and exhausting all that the same time.

This morning as I walked my dog, Mellie, I got caught up in the scent of the jasmine in the air around us and the beauty of the pastel sunrise in the sky. Suddenly it was as if the universe was reminding me that growth is essential, but so is rest and just being content to enjoy the beauty around us.

Just as personal growth feeds the soul, so does taking time to just be and to let your mind wander off into the world without worries or stress. How often this is forgotten or pushed aside in a world that moves so fast. Work, commuting, trying to juggle all of our additional responsibilities. It’s exhausting and often the time we need to create for ourselves to replenish our soul is the first thing we neglect.

For me my morning walks are a big way to fuel my soul. I have also found that hours spent with someone I can completely be myself with are good for that as well.

As you balance life in this hectic and crazy world don’t forget to find your moments to let your mind go and just be. We all need it and we all need to give ourselves permission to just stop and rest. Easier said than done, but completely essential to our ability to fully enjoy this world!

Much love!

Not a fan of shoes. Love trails, painting, the sky, Dr. Who, Sherlock, and my little spotted dog. Founding member of Team FlashFoot. Obsessed with taking photos of the sky and flowers. Would rather be working in the yard than in a group of people. Sundays are made for margaritas.
