Florida Girl and a Tiny Little Dream

I’m a native Floridian. My childhood was filled with a Florida that is very different from what you see now. Orange groves were everywhere, theme parks were smaller, and there were not houses everywhere.

Florida has been my home for over 42 years and I love my home state even though there are times I hate it while loving it. Summers were spent playing outside, tubing down the river at Kelly Park, and heading to the beach.

One thing I have always loved is to share is my love of the places where you really find Florida. Not the tourist attractions of the Orlando area. The little places that are often hidden. Beaches, parks, restaurants… a little of the beaten path.

When I worked full time in the outdoor retail world here in Central Florida I would share all of these places with other people who love nature as much as I do. In the back of my head I had this little spark of an idea to start some type of service to help people find these places. Somewhere in the hustle and bustle of work and just going through the motions of life I covered that spark. It’s not gone, it just got lost. In recent moments of walking in the mornings that spark appeared again. I don’t know what it will lead to or how I will do it, but I think it’s time to add some kindling to that spark and build the flame.

I want to explore the world and specifically more mountains, but I don’t want to lose sight of the unique beauty of what remains of the Florida wilderness. It’s so easy to look at the places we have spent little time and focus on being somewhere new that we can forget to look at where we are and appreciate the beauty of it.

Please journey along with me as I set out to grow this spark into a flame and find my love of Florida once again. Your suggestions are appreciated and if you want to do a little travel with me then please send me a message and let’s explore together.

Much love.
