Driving to work this morning my brain was on overload. In an effort to calm the whirlwind I put on my favorite relax music and started some serious conversation with myself. That conversation started with the words… just breathe, breathe into this moment. Breathe into what you have right now. Suddenly my brain relaxed and I was able to get some perspective. If yoga is teaching me anything, it is the importance of breathing. Taking a breath, letting that breath go.
In these moments of just breathing I was reminded that everything we plan for can change in a sudden moment. To plan, but not to worry about the future. To set my goals, but not get caught in needing to know what the future holds.
This theme is running through my life right now. It keeps coming back to me because I need to learn it. I need to learn it deep into my soul so that it becomes second nature to breathe in this moment… to stop trying to create a perfect and complete map of my future.
When you are caught up in trying to see what life will bring you, take a moment and breathe. Just be aware of the current moment and how fleeting it all really is.
Look around and marvel in the exquisite beauty that is life and just breathe.
